Kievit and Lyon

Our primary typefaces are Kievit (sans serif) and Lyon (serif). Where neither of these fonts are available, the designated font is Arial.

Kievit and Lyon are known as “humanist” typefaces, since they echo the letterform created by a scholar or scribe’s pen held in the right hand. Like Renaissance music and painting, these letterforms are filled with light and space. These are contemporary fonts, designed to perform well on the screen and at small sizes.
